Ram Raghubir Mishra is a versatile person of his own kind. He is a Painter, Actor, General Secretary of a Trust, and an inspiration for many. Ram was born in an agricultural family with hearing disability. Due to this disability, his family enrolled him to sketching and painting classes since he was a child. Despite being a deaf person he was capable of grasping each and everything in detail by visual observation which helped him to learn the Fine Art details. During his school days Ram participated and won several awards at School and State level in Arts, Sports and Acting. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from prestigious and renowned Delhi college of Fine arts affiliated to Delhi University. Though the college had very limited seats, and only for deserving candidates, he got admission due to his amazing skills in Painting. He is comfortable in all the mediums of paintings such as Oil on Canvas, Acrylic on Canvas, Sketch painting, Water Color painting, Silk painting etc. During his college days and even after the college he has been organizing painting exhibitions in the various parts of India which were inaugurated, visited and appreciated by various dignities including former Prime Minister V. P. Singh, Union Home Minister Shri Prakash Jaiswal, Shri Sunil Shastri – (Former M.P. and son of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri), Delhi’s former Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dixit and Mr. Yogesh Shukla – Senior BJP leader to name a few. He had won several awards and got recognition in National level Abilympics in between 2003 -2014. In the year 2003 and 2011 he participated in the International Abylimpics which held in KOREA, in Painting category and created memorable and remarkable moments both the times. In the year 2006 he got a spark and he decided to take an individual initiative to serve and help the deaf and dump society by starting his own trust. Despite limitations and without any governmental assistance and by overcoming the entire hurdle in verbal communication, he successfully started Prayagraj Badhir Kalyan Trust in Allahabad. He serves the Prayagraj Badhir Kalyan Trust in Allahabad as the General Secretary. The trust has now more than 300 active members and volunteers. The Prayagraj Badhir Kalyan Trust in Allahabad organizes various events like sports and cultural activities, small industrial trainings, exhibitions, camps etc for free of cost to educate and for overall development of the Deaf and Dumb Community.
